Wilsonville is a city primarily in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. Part of the northern part of the city is in Washington County. It was established as Boones Landing because this is where the Boones Ferry crossed the Willamette River. The community became Wilsonville in 1880. The city incorporated in 1969 with a population of approximately 1,000. At the 2000 census, the population was 13,991 and increased to 19,509 in 2010. Just over 90% of residents were white at the 2000 census, with Hispanics forming the largest minority. The city is located in Greater Portland and also includes the planned communities of Charbonneau on the south side of the river and the west side. The city is bisected by Interstate 5 and includes the Boone Bridge from I-5 on Willamette. Public school students attend schools in the West Linn-Wilsonville and Canby school districts, including the only mainstream high school, Wilsonville High School. Clackamas Community College and Oregon Tech have campuses on the outskirts of the city. Wilsonville has a local council executive form of government and operates its own library, public works, parks, and recreation department. Fire and policing protection is subcontracted to other regional government agencies. Wilsonville Public Works hires Jacobs to manage the wastewater treatment plant and Veolia North America to manage the Willamette River water treatment plant. The city is home to several technology companies, including Mentor Graphics, as well as Stream Global Services, the city's largest employer. Wilsonville has numerous manufacturing and distribution facilities adjacent to Interstate 5, including regional distribution facilities for Coca-Cola and Rite Aid. Shopping centers include Argyle Square to the north and Town Center shopping center to the south.
