Kleinfeltersville has a post office, but no postal service. It only hosts mailboxes. Mail delivery for the southeastern municipality of Heidelberg is via the Newmanstown Post Office. Here is the Kleinfeltersville Hotel and Tavern, built before the start of the American Civil War. The original hotel burned down on April 1, 2015 and has been replaced by a modern restaurant. It is also known among outdoor enthusiasts as the closest community to Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, a popular spot for bird watching and other outdoor activities. Kleinfeltersville is the closest city to the Middle Creek Visitor Center. Kleinfeltersville is also home to Albright Memorial Church, which contains Jacob Albright's grave. Jacob Albright (17591808) was the son of German immigrants. He preached to poor farmers in the area and became bishop of the Methodist church. The city of Kleinfeltersville itself has a rich history of religious history, having been the center of Jacob Albright's founding of Evangelical Union (a German expression of Methodism). A student of Jacob Albright, Reverend John R. Kleinfelter was the founder of Kleinfeltersville when he purchased a 500-acre farm from his father-in-law in 1824. This area was divided among the Reverend's eight sons. Kleinfelter has been the core of the city since 1848. The city is home to the Kleinfeltersville Hotel & Tavern. The original building was built before 1860 with bricks, no doubt supplied by one of the local masons. It was originally a two story building with an addition added in 1884 by then owner Henry Noll. In the early 1890s or early 1900s, owner Adam Spade added a penthouse to the hotel's third floor. The hotel served as a hostel for workers from local cigar factories, brick kilns, and travelers traveling through the county of southeastern Lebanon in the Reading-Lancaster-Harrisburg triangle. According to the hotel's 1892 guest list, Grover Cleveland and Adlai Stevenson stayed here just 11 days before their election on November 8, 1892. This visit is disputed, but possible if they were campaigning.
